Halal Mode

How we
classify halal.

清真 · 分类

01 What the toggle does

Halal Mode hides non-halal venues. It shows three kinds of places Muslim diners often eat at.

Each one is labelled honestly, so you can decide for yourself.

02 The four labels

Halal (16)

JAKIM-certified. We've seen the cert, or a verified source reporting it.

Muslim-owned (74)

Owned and run by Muslims. Usually no pork or alcohol, but no formal JAKIM cert sighted.

Pork-free (27)

No pork on the menu. Not Muslim-owned and not certified. Included for flexible Muslim diners.

Non-halal (313)

Serves pork or operates out of a non-halal kitchen. Hidden while Halal Mode is on.

03 Our promise

We under-promise on purpose. If a venue isn't certified, we won't call it halal, even if a blogger said so.

When in doubt, check the venue's own JAKIM cert.
