Many still refer to it as Seow Fong Lye or Macalister Road Chee Cheong Fun, a nod to its Burma Road origins. This humble business has been around since 1955. Possibly one of the oldest in town—and still drawing a loyal weekend crowd.

This humble pushcart has been around for 60 years or so and the rice rolls, eaten with prawn paste and chilli sauce, are a class of their own. It’s best to come early, as they often run out before noon.

Lee Fook Loon started a stall selling the Penang-style chee cheong fun at a corner coffee shop along Macalister Lane and Burmah Road back in 1955.
