I visited 3888 Fried Oyster at Presgrave Street Hawker Centre in December 2024, to try their famous Fried Oyster Omelette (Orh Chien). The dish featured crispy, golden edges, a gooey starch center, and juicy local mini oysters.

Sharing the same store area with a prawn noodle store, this oyster omelette store was recommended by a famous local chef in Penang. It was indeed outstanding in texture and taste.

Feels like a tourist spot, most of the customers there are not locals. Pity the aunty waiter, had to deal with the huge order volume there. The oujian quality is really mediocre, not sure if it’s due to the crowds.

It was quite good, the fried oyster omellete or O-chien (in Hokkien), the oysters was quite big, fresh and juicy. The egg portion was not bland and properly seasoned. The ambience was quiet hot and humid inside the restaurant.

The oyster omelet was very fresh, with a slightly sweet taste. I ordered a large portion, and it got a little too rich towards the end, but that didn't detract from how delicious it was.

Most people are here for the hokkien mee (prawn noodles), but we were just looking for oh chien. Lots of oysters, but the omelette itself was nothing much to shout about.

rm11 for a small plate of oyster, pretty good and the grannies running this store were lovely. quite starchy in my opinion but the oysters are plump and eggs were delicious! rm0.50 per person if you don’t order a drink here.
