After wandering around Kek Lok Si Temple and the nearby pagoda, we treated ourselves to the famous Air Itam Duck Rice - and it did not disappoint!

A rare find in Penang: braised duck rice. Currently run by the second generation. Several braised options are available: duck, pork belly, pork intestines, braised egg, tofu, and preserved mustard greens.

You are most likely familiar with roasted duck rice. This is NOT roasted duck. This is braised duck. If you are imagining crispy skin, oily juicy meat, then you are in the wrong place.

My mom brought me here she said that this one very nice (the last time she had it was like 20+ years ago). Came to try it but I feel it’s not bad but not something I’ll purposely came back for. It doesn’t wow me that much yet.

Its my 3rd time eating here (takeaway) as near to Hotel but why its famous. $8 duck rice small portion n meat chop up tiny bite size ladle with plenty of sauce. Soup is $1 (big portion) which is tasteless.

The duck rice is delicious; it's a rare find—braised duck. The price is also cheap; a regular plate is only 8 yuan, and they give you a generous amount of toppings. The sambal chili is delicious.

Great stop for the famous duck rice. Found this recommendation on the Michelin Guide and it did not disappoint. The chef cooked us up a mixed plate with braised duck, pork, tofu and egg, would highly recommend!

Found this famous and nice duck rice while resting in the food court. Need to queue a little bit as the stall was just opened. Duck rice yummy 😋 and chilli was spicy too.
