Nibong Tebal is well known, it appears, for its traditional Teochew biscuit shop Chop Chuan Guan, where biscuits are still made by hand every day. The shop is famous for its unique and rare "duck neck" biscuit, or "ark-am"!

My client/friend gifted these tau sar peah to me when he came down from Penang. I was instantly hooked upon first bite. So when the Penang trip beckoned, I planned a trip to visit the original shop in Nibong Tebal.

Nice old school bakery selling a few varieties of Chinese pastries such as mee koo and pau. Lots of traditional snacks and food products too such and heong pneah and tau sar pneah.

Came around 11am to buy the ak am but was told sold out. look like needed to pre order before visit. sigh. It would have been 5 stars if I managed to buy even 1 small pack.

The most traditional Chinese confectionery retail store in Nibong Tebal . We never get bored of their Tao Sa Piah . Which is their signature product . We enjoy seeing how it's been baked .

Every bakery is very fresh made. Check on the video how the peanut candy is made. If you plan to buy in bulk, remember to call them upfront to check with their schedule for each dish.

Didn’t know their cookies are so nice. Not too sweet and they are very thoughtful to come out with cookies without sugar in it. Mum like their ‘Ak-Am’ duck neck but not the real duck but is one type of dessert for us.

There is no doubt their tambun is one of the best tambun I've ever had. The filling is sweet and savory with a hint of bitterness from the fried shallot.
