However, we forgot the existance of 传意火炭炉 Chuan Yee Charcoal Steamboat , a traditional steamboat outlet in Jalan Kek Chuan Georgetown opposite of Soul Cafe. Apparently, the steamboat has been in operation since 2014 and serves delicate charcoal steaamboat.

The soup is simply delicious and the traditional charcoal type steamboat which make the flavor extra tasty. The fried fish is a must try.

What's different about the steamboat here is that they uses the old school kind of steamboat pot where it uses burning charcoal to keep the soup boiling. The charcoal is at the bottom of the round chimney looking thing in the middle of the pot. There are 3 sets of soup base.

We ordered Set B, and the portion was surprisingly generous. There was a good amount of king oyster mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, and fried fish slices.

Famous for their charcoal steamboat. For soup base u can choose with or without milk. I prefer it with milk as the taste will be more intense & rich with flavour. What I love here is their fried fish fillet. Fresh & crispy.

One of our all-time favorite spots, always fully packed. Reservations are a must! Seriously, you really need to make a reservation, or you'll miss out! The set meal comes with generous portions and very fresh ingredients.

The soup base is made with dried flounder broth, which is rich and sweet. The set meal originally included quite a few hot pot ingredients, the fresh fish slices were very fresh, and the shrimp paste and meat chunks were must-orders.

Value for money charcoal steamboat. Broth is flavourful with garlic taste, fresh grouper slices is thick while fried grouper pieces generous serving. The signature mince pork was a letdown personally, wished it was marinated better.

I love the steamboat here. There is a wide varieties of dishes, and a variety of dipping sauces. The fried fish is a must try item. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Delicious. The soup at the end is very sweet and delish.

Affordable fried fish hotpot. Great food n clean. Mostly known to locals. We were lucky to get a table indoors on a quiet thursday evening. Understand weekends are usually fully booked. Call to make reservations before visit.
