Jason’s Nonya House was where we visited for Peranakan food during our latest trip to Penang! Having tried Mama’s Nonya Cuisine and The Little Nonya Cuisine during our last Penang trip, we decided to give Jason’s Nonya House after reading through some pretty good review.

Jason Nyonya House is a Penang hidden gem that serves spectacular food. I’ve been curious about Jason Nyonya House for a while. We must have passed it at least half a dozen times because it’s near my husband’s nanny’s house.

Great food with authentic Penang Nyonya cooking. My mum is a great Nyonya cook and she gives it a thumbs up! They kindly gave us complimentary pulut hitam dessert and another prawn cashew dish to try.

Been here more than 5 times. No straight A this time. Food is less flavorful. The Thao Ewe Bak wasn't marinated enough. Bangkuang Char was too sweet. Fried kangkong wasn't fragrant even though it was fried with Belachan. Otak too dried.

Jason's came and explain the food. And gave us free dessert. Best nasi ulam ever, with lots of herbs and spices. Ju he char ( fried jicama/mangkuang with dried sotong) is a unique peranakan Penang dish. Like pohpiah, but wrapped in lettuce.

This is a new place, relocated from a old place near little india. It is much better place compared with the previous one. Bright and with simple design. Bigger and more comfortable.

Has very good food, the pig intestine has a bit too much pepper,but the salted duck soup is really good,nice people and quick service my fav is prob the ayam buah kelak and kapitan curry chicken. I had ambla drink which is hard to find.

Subpar at best. Unfortunately, this meal was very underwhelming. We had high hopes because it claimed to be “Malaysia’s best”. Service was lacking we had to ask multiple times for plates and condiments, which never ended up arriving.

Pretty delicious, each dish had distinct flavour and the fish was very fresh & dainty. Slightly underwhelmed by the Ayam buah keluah cuz it was cooked in very strongly flavoured curry, which drowned the taste of the nut itself.
