This one flies under the radar but deserves to be on every Penang food list. Tanjung Tokong locals know Kokokay serves one of the most balanced plates around. The poached chicken is juicy.

Went to Kompleks Desiran Tanjung for Kokokay Authentic Chicken Rice. I have visited this food court many times and there is always a queue. Today since it’s a short queue when i reached, no problem to wait just 4 persons ahead of me.

The best hainanese chicken rice in town. Ample of parking space here so it is pretty convenient. The rice is fragrant, chilli is tasty, the chicken is so tender. The only downside is the queue grows longer as you get closer to lunch time.

This Chicken Rice shop often has long queue around the lunch time. Now I can confirm that it is indeed special. The chicken is tender and the rice is very very very tasty.

I've been to several Penang chicken rice restaurants, but this one doesn't serve grilled chicken, it's steamed. It's tender and delicious, making it perfect for kids. The soup that comes with it is also great.

Owner of the shop was friendly. Chicken rice was great and better than many chicken rice shops in Singapore! I ate there twice during the same trip in Penang.

I think the quality is good for the price. A woman kindly assisted me and spoke Japanese. She uses a calculator to make the payment process easy to understand. It's not crowded if you go first thing in the morning on a weekday.

Wow! There is always a queue whenever i visited this food court. Always think to try on it one day AND I got a chance today since its a short queue when i reached 😁. No problem to wait 2 persons ahead of me. Memang lah sedap.
