I ordered the Char Koay Teow with duck egg and it absolutely hit the spot. The flavours were incredibly well-balanced, rich, smoky wok hei with a perfect touch of chilli that added heat without overpowering the dish.

May 2026: travelled to this hawker coffee shop to try Awesome CKT. Duck egg fried KT had wok hei and didn’t feel oily. Yummy. Glad that the hotel we were staying at was at this side of Penang to have the opportunity to visit.

If you are here first time, start with the basic char koay teow! They also offer other varieties if you are adventurous enough. Special thanks to the chef to head out to get more koay teow, as they sold out just before I got here!

Like their name, they're in awesome Char Koay Teow restaurant. Food was light, soft, and could still taste all the flavours, it was such a delight. Will definitely be back here.

Awesome CKT is good. It wasn’t too oily and tasted nice. Their service was very good too. Unable to include photograph of the CKT as we were hungry.

Came here to tapao before I head back to KL, and it's so worth it! The flavours were rich and full with wok hey, portion size is just nice too! Boss is very friendly too!

A delicious, affordable dish! It's full of wok hei (wok aroma), and I recommend adding a poached egg!
