Sun Marpoh is one of those places you go when you want proper Chinese family style cooking. The claypot prawn curry came bubbling hot, rich and fragrant, with that kick of spice that makes you keep going back for another spoonful.

Sun Marpoh Seafood Restaurant in Ipoh serves very authentic dishes, and we enjoyed almost all of our orders during our visit yesterday. The seafood was fresh, the flavors were rich, and the cooking style felt very traditional.

The food served no surprise but reminds me of the childhood taste. The place is packed on Sunday night but not waited too long. Their food comes with size S, M, L. Small portion is just really small and merely good for 2-3 pax.

The food and price were good, but I forgot to specify "less salt" when ordering. Service: I should actually give it 2 stars instead of 3 stars because I was dining alone.

Tried 2 times. Worth to visit. Food are above average and some of the best selling dishes are highly recommended - especially the lemongrass chicken which is my flavor food here. The pineapple fish is also best.

I was ripped off by the good reviews and came here to eat. First, the person taking my order was an auntie with glasses. Her attitude was terrible. Because I didn't order the grouper she recommended, her face turned sour.

The food was reasonably priced; the Indonesian shrimp was very fragrant and had a salty fish flavor; the tofu was generously filled; and the braised fish and pork belly was excellent.
