Heard a lot about this stall since it won a char kuey teow competition in Penang, so decided to give it a try. Honestly felt a bit overated, the taste didn't really stand out compared to other stall. And, the char kuey teow is over salty.

Definitely one of the best Char Koay Teow in Penang, this competition winning CKT has great taste, wok hei and crunchy huge prawns for just RM9.00 with duck egg.

This is going to depend on only one factor. Do you like your ckt dry or wet. I am in the drier ckt camp and for me it was too wet. I find that ckt when wet tends to clump together.

With the addition of duck egg, the stir-fry was perfectly dry and incredibly delicious with a wonderful wok hei (wok aroma). Every dish of Kwai Tiao (fried quail) was freshly stir-fried individually.

Ordered the char kuay teow with duck egg, chili and added opted for more cockles. Paid rm13 for it as the additional cockles were rm3. The fried kuay teow had strong wok hei with a whiff of burnt char. It was fragrant, but slightly bitter.

Disappointing and over-rated for this newly crowned Penang's best Char Kway Teow. My RM13 CKT plate was grossly oily and no wok hei. Prepare to wait at least 25 - 30 mins.

The char koay teow was salty and wet — lacking that dry, smoky wok hei it should have. They used frozen shrimp instead of fresh ones, which really brought down the quality.

Winner of the Penang Char Kway Teow of the year. Was it good? Yes. Was it mind blowingly good ? Nah. Still in search for one that will bring tears to my eyes ! #sogoodcancry

We got a large plate to share between three and yes it was a bit on the oily side, but had so many ingredients and the wok hei taste was just right.

I bring my son to get medical treatment in penang for 8 days, and I eat nearly all recommended koay teow in penang, by far this is the best, and so underated, this is hidden gems. Note: use duck egg, double duck egg will be fantastic!
