While Taiwan has its own thick sweetish kind, and Thailand a crisper version, I still enjoy Penang’s Oh Chien – potato starch fried with eggs and oysters.

Ordered a large plate (RM10) to try and I liked it better than the version at Seng Thor . The egg batter is crispy – almost like fritters, while the oysters were justly cooked, moist and bursting with flavour.
