Hameed’s is a unique mee goreng stall located at the food court next to Fort Cornwallis. I got a sense that this stall is special as I approached the decrepit-looking food court. Only two stalls are still operating in it.

Look for a sign that says ‘Hameed Pata Special Mee’. This is where you will fine one of the best mee goreng (fried noodles) in Penang. Mee goreng or mee rebus is what you should order when here.

Hameed Pata Mee Goreng in Padang Kota Lama is said to serve one of the best mee goreng in Penang. Located in a food court next to Fort Cornwallis, I paid this place a visit just before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.

Every time I come to Penang, I make sure to come and eat squid noodles…. It’s really delicious, I’ve repeated it many times….whoever hasn’t tried it, you should definitely try it but if it’s a public holiday, it’s worth it….

Ate here in September 2023. Honestly, the Mee Sotong was very disappointing, given the hype behind it. Too much colouring and overladen with the sweet tomato flavour that made it less enjoyable than any average Mee Goreng I have ever eaten.

Coming to Penang without eating mee sotong is not valid..Been here so many times..The taste is consistently delicious..Their mee sotong is one of the reasons make us come to Penang..

Delicious. Must try. Simple menu, small squid noodles rm7, big squid noodles rm9. Actually, the difference is only in the quantity of squid they put in. Rm9 is a bit much for the squid sauce. Overall okay.

Squid Mee is the best in Penang. The price is really cheap, only RM7. Self service style, but the food is prepared very quickly. When I went it was around 6pm. (weekday). There was no queue. There were plenty of seats. Recommended.

The mee sotong was freshly cooked. The atmosphere here was quite warm but the fans were cooling. Highly recommended!

The famous Pasembor in Padang Kota. A must try for anyone visiting Padang Kota, Penang. It tastes really good and worth it. Hope to try the squid noodles next time. 😋

I bought fried noodles yesterday evening. It tasted less good this time, saltier than usual. The squid was cut into small pieces and was a bit tough.
