We stumpled upon Lok Kee by chance, drawn in by its char chan teng (茶餐厅) vibes and menu. Curious to see if it lived up to the reviews we saw online, therefore we decided to give it a try.

Visited on June 6th morning. This wasn't my first time here, as my dad loves the Teochew kuih. Since he was visiting Penang from Ipoh, I purposely brought him here, but the experience was ruined by a Chinese lady working the floor.

Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were all very good, and I would definitely come again. The curry noodles, in particular, were unforgettable. The glutinous rice chicken I ordered to go was also delicious.

The food generally is good but it’s not hot enough. We ordered their famous lan fan and it tasted ok. Their fried laksa is quite nice. Char Keow Teow and Wan Tan Mee not bad too.

One of the new style kopitiam which maintains the delicious flavors of hawker food but in a more comfortable environment. The Wan Ton Mee with crispy pork is really tasty and could give any of the traditional stalls a run for their money.
