There is this hidden gem in this Anson Road Morning Market that sells Koay Teow Th’ng. Is not your usual type of noodle as this famous Ah Keong Chicken Koay Teow Soup had been operating since 1964 which is about 55 years in business.

I was first introduced to this Anson Road market kuih teow th’ng by my mom when she ‘tapao’ a packet for us for breakfast. It immediately became one of my favorites, so I made it a mission to have it at the market itself the following trip…

Open in the early hours of the day, this is a good spot to enjoy a variety of authentic Penang hawker food while experiencing the hustle & bustle of a local marketplace.

In my opinion the best Hokkien Mee (prawn noodles) in Penang! Stumbled upon this hidden gem when we were scouting for breakfast near our hotel on day 1 and back every morning of our trip!

Lower price food, foods we ordered all delicious. Wet market is next to food court. Recommended: 1) 🍜 Prawn mee - thick prawn taste. Delicious. 2) 🍜 Wan Tan Noodles (dry) - undescribable special fragrance for the noodles, bbq meat good.

First time tried the wantan mee based on numerous good reviews. Portion is good for a small plate at RM6. They provide green pickle chilli and sambal. 3 piece of wantan. Pork lard added to the noodles makes it flavourful and delicious 😋.

We went on a weekday and it’s not too crowded. The double egg porridge was really good and we ordered a plate of chicken to go with the porridge - cheap and delicious. The kway teow soup is slightly sweeter version and taste as good.

It's a standard food court, but the prices seem to be among the cheaper ones in the area. Fried dough sticks are a little over a dollar, chicken rice is six dollars, wonton noodles are six dollars, and fish soup is a little over ten…

This food court got more than 10 delicious hawkers stalls selling local favorites. The place got very high ceilings, plenty of fresh air and very cool and pleasant in the morning.

Clean airy food court. I had the kueh teow terng as recommended by an acquaintance. It’s amazingly good. The owner boils the chicken soup stock in the early hours of the morning before setting up his stall.

Came here on a Saturday morning to get my fix before our morning hike. CKT was not ready.. so I chose to have to the wonton dry noodles. Solid standard, springy noodles, good wonton plus the chili (both cut green ones and the chili past).

Recently renovated to Singapore standards in 2023, this is most probably one of the best looking food court in old Georgetown. It is clean, airy and bright.

I almost had breakfast here last month. There are about a dozen stalls here, and each stall has a lot of choices, so you won’t get tired of eating here every day.
