There is also Popiah sold in this food court too; and being a Popiah fan, I find this rather on the average only. The ingredients were rather scarce and did not complement the taste to perfection. Too bad though.

Mdm Koay, the proprietress of this popiah stall is an old-timer who has been selling this dish for more than 30 years. She learnt the trade from her mother who has retired due to old age.

The popiah stall here is always in-queue. They are indeed famous among the locals and they are made upon order. The popiah is packed with the turnips and very nice and delicious.

We reached at 3.30pm on a heavily drizzling afternoon, and the place felt like a huge reprieve from the rain. It wasn't too crowded so there wasn't too much of a wait. We did some research in advance. We enjoyed: No.

Don't order curry noodles at number 68! Look at these prawns! I showed them to him, but he wouldn't admit his mistake. Not a single prawn was intact. They were rotten, tasteless, and not fresh. He even claimed his prawns were good.

A very traditional food court in Batu Lanchang, next to the market, with that classic old-school Penang hawker atmosphere. It can get quite hot and crowded, especially during busy hours, but there is usually a fair amount of seating if…

Too many choices to choose from! I like the "fei lo" curry mee, char koay teow, nyonya kuih, ham chim peng, ice blended red bean, popiah, chee cheong fun and steamed chicken rice there.

I simply love this heartland market/food centre. It has the time capsule feel to it. It's clean and airy. Food prices are reasonable for local standards. Not touristy at all.

I know of only a very few stalls that served pretty decent tasting food, the rest were just combination of bland/bad/expensive/rude-seller condition.

Indian food, especially the vegetable kueh, is a must-try. Unfortunately, the flatbread had a long queue, so I didn't get to try it. The fried kueh was alright, but the shrimp paste in the chee cheong fun wasn't as thick as in the Seven…

Came here once and I must say the drinks must be takeaway and near your sitting spots, too far they will not serve. In terms of the environment, the food court is quite unhygienic and the foods are mid.

The vegetarian wantan mee is nice and comes in a large portion for only RM6. However, the place is often too crowded, making it difficult to find a seat. Update: The small portion is only RM4.
