There are a lot of nasi kandar spots in George Town , Penang. We went to the oldest one— Hameediyah Restaurant —which has been in operation since 1907. There may be better nasi kandar spots out there but we decided to try it at Hameediyah because of its history.

Bagi Kekny Nasi Kandar Hameediyah ni special kat kuah. Rasa kuah dia tak bau rempah yang kuat, sebaliknya bau sedap dan harum. Dan rasa rempah tu memang boleh rasa dia pakai rempah ratus yang elok.

Hameediyah Restaurant has been my family’s favorite go-to for curries and murtabak since my grandfather’s time.
Taste Penang’s legendary Indian Muslim curries and the murtabak made with the same recipes since 1907.

They claim to be the oldest nasi kandar restaurant in Penang. Tasty nasi kandar and murtabek (which comes with delicious onion and curry sauce for RM5.50).
