The coffeeshop looked like it could do with a major overhaul although it continued to exude an old-school charm like many other shophouses in Penang. First stall i ordered from; Penang Road Famous Chao Kuey Teow (檳榔路仁哥炒粿条).

This old coffee shop oozes nostalgic charm like no other.

After our Round 1 lunch at Tuai Pui Curry Mee , we headed to our next stop i.e. Joo Hooi Cafe, the coffeeshop right behind where the famous chendol pushcart is. Besides chendol, this cafe has a lot more tasty local eats to offer.

Prominently located on the tourist-friendly Jalan Penang, Joo Hooi is your best bet for amazing hawker food. Traditional wooden furniture and plastic chairs suggest that Joo Hooi doesn’t plan on modernising any time soon.
