During my recent trip to Penang with my besties, we had our first lunch at Restoran 77 Famous Curry Fish Head along Gurney Drive. We were glad to have eaten there because the food was simply awesome and delicious!

Restaurant 77 has been around for three decades and nothing much has changed from their recipes. They are known for their curry fish head by locals. If you’ve not tried Chinese style curry fish head, this is the spot to be.

Restaurant 77 is located on a small stand alone shop house along Gurney Drive. It’s probably the most simple dish of the lot but I do enjoy the fish toufu squares. Here’s their famous curry fish head.

Facing Gurney Drive on Penang island, you’d be forgiven for not realising that there’s a restaurant here – the sign is small and the building looks like a rundown old house.
