Just a thirty-minute drive from George Town is Air (Ayer) Itam , a suburb that’s home to tourist spots Kek Lok Si Temple and Penang Hill . It’s also home to incredible hawkers, including Sister Curry Mee .

Besides exploring Air Itam Market, the main reason for coming here was to check out the legendary Sister Curry Mee. Had some difficulty locating it initially as the stall was off the main road (Jalan Paya Terubong).

Curry Mee (Small) = RM6.00 No Service Charge This is a Michelin Bib Gourmand Food Stall. This was originally opened by 2 Sisters back in 1946 and has been around for Over 75 Years already.

5 star is to pay tribute to the founder of this stall. Now the food only worth 3.5 star. Had been eating this curry mee since 45 years ago, back that time their curry mee taste so excellent and not many Penang people know abt them.

Service: Total scam. The lady asked us to sit at the area opposite their shop (it was a drink store). After ordering the curry mee, the drink store aunty told us we must order drinks from her becos we sitting at her area.

Located beside the main air itam market street. Came here for breakfast. Didn’t see the both sister here, but only a young lady preparing the curry mee. The curry mee more towards sweet side. Cost rm8 per bowl.
