Soon Lee’s Teochew (Chaozhou) sio bee, which is what the Teochews call “dim sum”, are still the best I’d come across anywhere in Malaysia, especially its chim bak - minced pork-crabmeat cake, steamed and served in crabshells.

This is an old shop, and the owner handles all the orders and delivery, so don't expect too much from the service. However, the owner is always smiling, so it's acceptable.

On January 1st, 2025, I visited Jawi, a century-old shop. It's a Teochew-style dim sum shop, now in its third generation. The dim sum is Teochew style. Since it was lunchtime, they were out of dim sum.

Great place to have local authentic Teochew dim sum for breakfast. Highly recommend their KuChai kuih, fried danghoon and fish soup and other dishes are just good. Fast table service and a cozy old coffee shop environment.
