Along Carnarvon street this coffeeshop, 星光Kopitiam, has the best HKM (breakfast only) and Roast Duck (lunch only). It serves one of the best roasted duck in Penang. Skin is crispy with succulent and juicy duck meat, full of flavours.

Went here expecting an old-school stall with meats hanging in a non-air-conditioned dining space, just like in the YouTube videos I watched before our trip. So I was surprised to find that the place has been modernized.

On July 22, 2025, I came to Penang Island for work. I ate at Google Man's Char Kway Teow and then came here to get duck rice to go. There was a very long queue, with both food and takeout options.

Seriously disappointing, food came cold like frm the fridge had to ask the waiter to reheat the duck and then the duck tasted even worse .haha so sad for my penang duck experience Service is slow .

Environment is nice. The chicken rmeat a dry but the taste is ok. The oil rice not available. The duck meat is soft & good. "Chai Boey" portion big & a lot of vege but the taste need improvement. Braised soy tofu doesn't suit my taste.

HK style restaurant. Ordered a Wanton Mee... Siew Mai... 2 Soft Boil Egg and Iced Coffee. The Wanton Mee was nice... the Siew Mai just taste like instant frozen food that was warm up in the steamer.

This used to be one of the best roast duck in Penang and was worthy of Michelin. Now after they moved and making it bigger, their duck that was juicy and delicious has become dry like rubber.

I am not sure the old uncle still manage this shop as the name is same. Overall, the food were decent. However, if compared with the old shop, the old shop's duck still taste better, juicer. The chai boey portion was big at rm6.
