I couldn’t settle with just eating CKT in Kafe Ping Hooi. So I tried the Lobak (or Lor Bak ) of Lobak King . Lobak King’s lobak has a crisp beancurd skin and a strong five spice flavor.

This Lobak King stall is hidden in a corner of the kafe. This stall may not look as eye-catching as Tiger, but its five-spiced pork rolls wrapped in tofu skin, prawn fritters, beancurd & battered fish were really yummy.

My Uber driver told me the stalls at Ping Hooi cafe are amazing for breakfast , especially the 'special loh bah ' from the Lobak King. The King himself suggested the pork roll, pork chop, shrimp cake and fried fish .

This lobak is not minced pork wrapped in tofu skin but is wrapped with few of pieces of pork . it's tender, crunchy skin. and the sauce makes this good . They recommend me to take their signature fried pork fillet with 5spices too .

Today, due to work, I came to this old-fashioned coffee shop. It's a very old building, a traditional Nanyang-style coffee shop. The place is a bit small, hot, stuffy, and dirty. Thankfully, there are quite a few food stalls inside.

We found this corner lot of old style kopitiam for quick lunch. Left only CKT and Lobak stalls that were still open, so we ordered both to tried out.

I was originally going to have duck rice noodle soup with my friend in the back, but when we passed by the shop in front, I smelled something really delicious! Ah! It turned out to be the aroma of fried rice noodles from the corner shop.

We were en route to another nearby eatery when after walking past this place got lured in by the sight, sound and scent of freshly peeled giant sea shrimp being sautéed over high heat as the stall owner is busy whipping out plates of…

Literally can’t stop eating here, everything is so delicious. You have to go early, they sell out fast and close shortly after noon. The tofu dessert is really smooth and the flavor comes through really well.

For those who enjoy Penang-style fried kway teow, I highly recommend visiting Penang Garden Tea House to try their traditional fried kway teow. The kway teow here is incredibly flavorful, with a wonderful wok hei (wok aroma) – although the…

I came to try again thinking it was still Tiger CKT but found out later that they have moved plus it was raining heavily so what the heck. My verdict, if you like strong flavours with rich aroma from the wok hei, you can try this.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. Today, I ordered 3 plates of char kuey teow for dine-in. I was also thinking of ordering some takeaway, but when the person taking orders asked me about it, I hadn’t decided how many packets I…
