I remembered that the char kway teow stall at Sin Guat Keong coffee shop at the junction of Kimberley Road and Cintra Road is always mentioned in any list of the top char kway teow in Penang.

Breakfast at Sin Guat Keong Coffee Shop is white wantan mee and a bowl of dumplings cost RM18.00. A cup of hot Kopi O cost RM1.80. Sisters Wantan Mee is crunchy and tasty.

Terrible place. Very aging place. Only 1 male and female washroom. Female washroom no light at all, very small and very old school lock, hard to lock the door. No flushing system some more, using pipe only.

Char kuey teow tasted bland with no cockles at all. No taugeh and two very thin slices of lap cheong were included. Totally disappointing. Somemore, my order got mixed up.

This is absolute garbage. This is the first time in my life I've written a bad review. I had already ordered 40 MYR worth of food and was about to eat when an old lady came up to me and tried to order a drink.

I don't know if it's this particular shop, but there were so many people queuing up. The smell of cooking oil was so strong that I felt like I couldn't breathe.

Some tourists might find this place small and hot, but for us locals, it's a restaurant we've been eating at since childhood, with that old-fashioned flavor. The char siu rice is pretty good, though the portion size is a bit small.

Overall their food wasn't very nice. Their poh pieh was way tooooo thick so when you bite on it, it feels like your teeth will break. It is somehow still crispy but the skin was tooooo thick. Not light and crispy.

This is a total tourist trap! The owner's attitude was terrible, and he treated customers extremely rudely. I was publicly berated by him for not knowing how to order water. This kind of "forced consumption" is incredibly unpleasant.

Forced to order the drink when we were half way eating or else hv to pay minimum charges. There is no notice on the table and nobody tell when we sat down. The lady worker was rude when we telling her that we dont need to order for drinks.

The Federal Roasted Meat Rice here is top-notch, with excellent barbecued pork and good roasted pork. The spring rolls are average, but paired with the spicy and sour laksa soup, they're a good snack.

The fried kway teow is super delicious and very dry and fragrant. Add a duck egg if you want it spicy! The satay is also a must-try; the sauce is amazing!

Prices in the tourist area: High prices, average taste. Not recommended. Oyster omelet, RM 17 per plate. Oysters are rather small. Char kway teow, RM 14 per plate. Average taste. Penang char kway teow usually costs less than RM 10.

The ice milk tea made here (take away), is very very tasty and nice and refreshing. I asked for no sugar and it has a hint of the sugar but it is very nice 🤤🤤🤤I wish I stayed near here 👍🤌👍👍👍
