The Place Located within George Town, Tek Sen Restaurant is easily where I had one of my best meals in Penang. I was warned about the notoriously long queue, hence I made the effort to arrive ten minutes before it opens at 12pm.

It was mad busy, but service is efficient. The menu is in English but the wait staff; take your pick from those in their teenage years to the septuagenarians are all able to rattle off some “ lau chiu pai” aka signatures should you need…

Many people say this is one of the best chinese restaurant in penang. I can agree with that, i ordered 3 dishes : mapo tofu, stringray fish curry and the black pork ( i forgot the name ) but for me the stringray fish is the best!!!

I came here near their opening time at 11.30am. Just wait around 10-15 minute before opening. If you come just 2 person, i’m suggest to used the table for 2 people (they just have around 3-4 table for 2).

We initially made a reservation for 7pm, but since our schedule was ahead of time, we asked if we could shift it to 6pm. Thankfully, the restaurant was very accommodating and flexible with the change, which we really appreciated.

2nd time visited this restaurant. We made a reservation and got into the private room with AC behind. My favorite is the ‘Home Recipe Double Roasted Pork with Chili Padi’ & ‘Oatmeal Shrimp’.

Standing in line for about half an hour while eating sliced fruit😁 It's worth the taste of the food. The restaurant is always busy. The staff is friendly and even recommends some dishes. The Pokchay is just like home cooking.

Super duper oily belacan kangkung! It barely come with leaves just full of stem 🙄 the crowd is just queue for Michelin guide I guess, but seriously didn’t worth the queue.

We queued at 5 pm and got in as soon as they opened. The food was delicious, and the best part was the price – only 140+ MYR for two people! It was incredibly good value.
