I’ll admit, I’m not a huge noodle guy, I much prefer rice, but since I was on a tour to to eat Michelin Awarded restaurants in George Town, Penang , I felt like it was my duty to try the famous Tok Tok Mee Bamboo Noodles.

This local stall is definitely worth visiting! We really loved their signature wantan mee — the noodles had a nice chewy texture, and the dumplings were firm and packed with filling.

While both are wonton noodles, Penang's bamboo-style noodles with wontons are vastly different, primarily due to the noodle-making process; the noodles, though thin, are incredibly chewy.

The restaurant is spacious and comfortably air-conditioned! They offer wonton noodles in small, medium, and large sizes, which is something Japanese ramen shops should take note of! They don't serve beer, though.

The wonton noodles were delicious; the wonton filling was just right, the broth was rich yet light and refreshing, and the fried rice had a wonderful wok hei (wok aroma). Highly recommended!
