Chiefeater Chu Boon does what many Penangites do, have a plate of Char Hor Fun for breakfast at Yik Kheng Kee Cafe

While there are no rules for serving it with fried egg or runny egg, I enjoyed the Char Hor Fan with the latter as it coats the noodle, giving a velvety mouth-feel. The noodle is delicious with pickled green chilies.

Delicious! I originally only wanted takeout, but now I want to try it in-house. I've never had char hor fun anywhere else, but this is delicious enough for me, even without comparison.

This is an amazing Char Hor Fun. We almost didn't stop to eat because the pictures looked quite unappetising, but they had a decent crowd and that gave us enough of a reason to try it. So glad we did!

Somewhere in the middle of Kimberley Street you'll find an old prewar coffee shop with a noodle stall on the walkway. It'll be difficult to find the tiny name "Yik Kheng Kee" of the shop but it's easy to locate the stall as it'll be…

The stir-fried rice noodles were amazing!!! The rice noodles were mixed with some rice vermicelli/noodles and stir-fried together, giving them a wonderful wok hei (wok aroma) effect.

The business is booming, and the interior is an open space. It's always packed, mostly with locals. The first time I was drawn in by the owner's fried rice preparation. Just looking at it and listening to it made me want to eat it!

RM7.50 char hor fun was so delicious! We waited probably 20-30 minutes for it and ate it in less than 5 minutes. We also ordered kopi ais and hot coffee, which didn't have much of a caffeine hit but was still tasty.

I always enjoy the atmosphere and hustle and bustle of Chinese food stalls like this. Enjoying the food, coffee, and lively chatter of the uncle and aunty around me ;) The coffee and bread were pretty good, but I didn't order any heavy…

Best hainan char ever, looks simple but the broth is bursting with wokhei and lard flavors! Come before noon otherwise it'll be sold out. The horfan and hainan coffee is pretty good too!
