My favourite food to eat in Penang is, without doubt, Assam Laksa. I prefer this version of laksa a lot more than the usual laksa with the coconut milk curry.

Penang Road Famous Laksa has a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand recognition since 2023: Penang Road Famous Laksa’s broth is sweet, tangy, spicy, and has a mild fish flavor (thank God!).

The laksa and char kway teow here are the absolute best! At first, I thought I’d made a mistake ordering hot dishes when the sun was blazing, but the laksa wasn't overwhelmingly hot, so I could still thoroughly enjoy it. It was so good!

Order all of their menus (Oyster omelette, char kuey teow, laksa) and surprisingly everything tasted amazing. The laksa was my favorite, the broth has the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and refreshing flavors. It tasted very authentic.

I went around 2 PM and there was an hour-long wait! They don't have evening hours, so it's always crowded during the day. There's no shade while waiting, so I recommend using a parasol or queuing with several people.

Standards have dropped. The CKT here is my favourite, first because its halal and second its the best halal version I know. I have been eating here since before the micheline hype and before the Qs.

Food so good i went there twice during my trip!! I think the Laksa tasted really good, im glad i gave it a try. It has a sour yet spicy sweet sensation in it.

i had laksa, fruit rojak, fried kuey teow, cendol and omelette. everyone’s food came nicely. but my kuey teow tastes TOOO SALTY. i can literally taste the salt in my mouth.

A mention in Michelin guide. The bowl was well presented and the udon-like rice noodle had a good bite to it. It came with mint leaves, minced sardine, pineapple and lemongrass flower.

Every time I come to Penang, I always stop by this restaurant. It's delicious and impressive; the flavors are rich and intense, the seafood is fresh, and the wait time isn't long.

Skipped the laksa this time, but the seafood lineup at Penang Road did not disappoint. 🦐🦪 The Char Kuey Teow was packed with huge, juicy prawns, and the oyster omelette was a total standout. Highly approve of this alternative menu!

1st time trying penang laksa and absolutely love it. Lots of condiments and noodle texture is just right. Tastes like one of the dish in Thailand. If you like แกงส้ม you would absolutely love this menu.

Long queue but that's ok if you don't mind and focus on the food. We shared space with others as there was no seating left. Was only here for the assam laksa. Will rate the food 3-4stars but staff service and atmosphere deserves 5stars.

Having a morning walk end up in this shop. The char koey teow. Was good the non spicy for kids and the spicy for adult was awesome! And manage to grab a bowl of the famous Laksa. Came in the morning No que at all. Food 🍲 nice!
