I had better luck at Nasi Kandar Raffe in Pulau Tikus, a popular spot among Penangites besides Nasi Kandar Beratur . The chap who helped me with the rice was pleasant and accommodating, and scooped only the curries I wanted into my rice.

Great old tasting mamak food. Revisit 2026 One thing I like about this place is the sheer variety of proteins available. Plenty of choices staring back at you from the display counter, making decision-making harder than it should be.

The nasi kandar tastes great, and all the food is served hot and fresh. You can really enjoy the flavors when everything comes freshly prepared. It’s also quite famous among the locals, which shows how well-loved this place is.

Went during lunch and had to queue for ∼30 min, but service was okay and fast. Try their killer menu of chicken gulai - delicious and big portion for the price. Total bill for 2 people RM28, worth the taste and price.

Didn’t expect the food to be this good for such a simple restaurant !! truly worth every penny! The curry was thick, rich, and full of flavour. Definitely an underrated spot. Only downside: the dining space is quite limited.

Thank God. Surrdap. Just a small shop. Parking is hard to find. There is paid parking across the street. Always crowded so time your time here. Look for it during non-peak hours.
