The duck koay chap here is really famous but during my last visit, I felt like having something different especially since I came with my husband and I knew he would be up for ordering a few dishes to share *ahem*.

But I soon discovered there is more to air itam when I had breakfast at Wah Meng coffeeshop. This coffeeshop houses a few stalls selling koay chap, nasi kandar, roti canai, porridge, char kuay teow and curry mee, among others.

We made our way to Kedai Kopi Wah Meng. The coffee shop located across the Sisters Curry Mee is a stone throw away from the Air Itam morning wet market, which itself is full of interesting local flavor.

One of the most famous Koay Chap stalls is at Air Itam, I remember being introduced to this dish by my parents before the Penang Bridge was built. It seems like the stall is being operated by the younger generation these days.

Around the area there are many hawker which are famous tag along the morning market, one which is in particular was one of my friends favourite Kueh Chap stall is in this Wah Meng Kopitiam that host also variety of food.

The koay chap stall was good. Also tried the oyster mee from the stall at the front of the kopitiam which was super delicious! Prices are cheap (for us) and the portion is just nice. The claypot mee was average.

Had breakfast here before heading to Penang hill , hardly can get kuey chap here at KL where I live , so decided to have it here at Penang , lots of variety of hawker food here , parking was limited and difficult here
