I might be on a starch-restricted diet but one thing I can't resist at times would be wanton noodles; hence,. when I walked past Hwa Ting Restaurant in Penang , I remember the name as it's quite similar to the michelin Hua Ting in Singapore !

The moment we stepped into Hwa Ting, we were awestruck by the beautiful interior that doesn't depict selling wanton noodle. The earthy wood and shades of green tone with the heritage floor print gives out the modern vintage vibes.

Hwa Ting 华亭 at Lebuh Melayu has been around for a while, many sang their praises on the signature Wan Ton Noodles. It is easy to miss this place but do look for the huge Chinese signage a few doors away from La Vie En Rose Patisserie and Bao Teck Tea House .

Thinking about what to eat I stumbled upon this Wan Ton Mee shop, Hwa Ting Restaurant. Very delicious and the noodles is very QQ (bouncy). The lady who make the stall famous is there to welcome us.

A Chinese restaurant with quaint vibes. The entrance is inconspicuous but it opens up into a nice outlet with tastefully done interior decor having an antique touch about it. Has a very serene ambience.

Good choice. We ordered the signature lo mein, which was a generous portion, and the wonton soup was also very good. Overall, the taste was fantastic, a great Cantonese-style tea restaurant experience with some local Malaysian flavors.

Nice vibe and typical Hwa Ting. Char Kway Teow 4 out of 5 (personally not a fan of sausage). Roasted pork fried rice quite nice - 5 out of 5.
