Said to be one of the first few establishments in Penang that offers Fish Head Bee Hoon a couple decades back, Wong Chau Jun is a big name for Penangites whom are old enough to hear of the name. It is one of the popular weekend brunch places for those families with deep pockets.

late march 26 1] steamed "fried" pomfret and hor fun ... interesting but ultimately very lightly flavoured 2] hot & sour beehoon (fried fish paste) ... chili padi spicy ...

They are magical in their handling of bitter melon - somehow remove the cloying bitter nose-palate-finish into a subtle-but-present bitter - excellent!

Honestly, the hor fun and soup dishes at Wong Chau Jun were decent — comforting and flavorful, but nothing that really wowed me. However, the tofu was a standout.

I used to love their slice fish steam hor fun, but it's not as good as last time anymore. The soy sauce is not as flavourful as before. The fish used is very fresh. Went during breakfast time, but they're already out of vermicelli.

Steamed rice noodles with fish fillets: The rice noodles weren't particularly smooth, but the fish fillets were fairly fresh. The flavor was just right, not too salty or bland. Parking was quite difficult.

Always ordered the steam fish horfun and still tasted delicious. The spicy sour noodle was abit different from what I had tasted before, too sour.
