With its simple shop-front, it’s easy to dismiss this unassuming spot as just another roasted meat joint. But we were in for a real treat! Their signature jade green noodles are lightly seasoned with soy sauce, letting the vibrant color of the noodles shine.

Previously located at Kimberley Street, Old Soon Kee is known for its signature Chwee Kuih and roasted meat since its opening in 2021. They have since relocated to a couple of places before settling down at the current location...

Absolutely delicious at Old Soon Kee! We ordered the steam chicken, roasted pork (sio bak & char siew) and it was a really satisfying meal! Meat served was juicy and the best part is that the sio bak and char siew was not fat at all and its skin was super crunchy!

03/2026 We're back here again. It's good! 11/2024: The shop is bigger and has air conditioning. However, the service takes a long time to order because we have to wait for the boss to bring a tablet to input the order - 15 minutes.

The portion sizes are getting smaller and smaller. Dinner time is now 6 pm. The rice is very cold. It has no herbal jelly flavor. I've already experienced the owner's terrible attitude before. I won't be dining in again.

Today is our comeback, straight from the airport to this our favorite restaurant in Penang near Komtar. Haha. I really loved their honey pork and crispy pork rice. My wife loved their chicken one. Plus, their bites (kwee something).

Steamed Chicken (Upper Quarter) rm14 Roasted Chicken (Lower Quarter) rm15 Chai Boey rm5 Roasted Honey Pork + Crispy Pork Noodle rm11 Coffee 'C' Ice rm2.5 The steamed chicken and "Chai Boey" are both delicious! No need to order the coffee.

Wow, this Hainanese rice is delicious. It's so delicious. Eating in is also okay because the air conditioning keeps it cool. The prices are standard. It's located not far from the Hotel Sentral / Yan Hotel (formerly the Heliconia Hotel).
