If deep-fried Malaysian food is your thing, then you’ll enjoy lor bak. Khen Pin Cafe has been cited by leading Singapore and Penang food blogs as having some of the best lor bak in Penang. I’ve read that Uncle Lau has been cooking up his signature lor bak for over forty years.

I visited hwre 20 years ago when I found uncle lau loh bak in a book about world famous penang hawkers. Was pleased to see they still going and his loh bak is legendary. Must visit spot with other great hawkers in the cafe also.

Old school coffeeshop style. Round tables with floor tiles. Many Traditional Penang Food stalls in this coffeeshop. Cooked with heart. I enjoyed my wanton mee with black sauce!!

Fanstatic lobak😋😋😋, 5 stars for lobak. Keep coming back to this absolutely fantastic lobak, best in Malaysia imo. Everything are handmade & fried by uncle & aunty and serve nicely.

Taste was so-so. Didn’t really like the Hokkien mee, especially the dried prawn flavor — broth was a bit sweet and lacked punch. Went around 8am, not many customers.

Purely a personal taste: the braised pork was superb, the Hokkien noodles were sweet and savory, the fried kway teow with duck egg was incredibly flavorful, and I added a plate of wonton noodles.
